Physio-Chi workshops are aimed at instructing others to take groups or perhaps teach individual patients/clients in their work, practice, or local community based hall.
Physio-Chi was founded by Moh Tapper, Physiotherapist, who used her physiotherapy knowledge to modify the movement of traditional Tai-Chi. Modifications are aimed at reducing injury or demand on the body compared to more traditional forms of Tai Chi. The Physio-Chi form is quicker and more easily learnt, making it suitable for group exercise classes, especially for the elderly and people with physical problems.
Workshops include explanations of the benefits of the movements, covering the background and philosophy of this practice along with Qi Gong breathing practice. The outcomes of the workshops is to empower participants to take this method back to their workplace and be able to conduct classes for their clients, or instruct one on one.
"Physio-Chi for everyone"
Physio-Chi workshops are taught to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Healthcare Assistants with a supervising Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist. Blocks are Beginners: Red/Orange; Intermediate: Yellow/Green; Advanced: Blue/Purple and White/Indigo, with a total of 174 movements in the entire form.
Classes can be conducted with one block and as classes become more proficient, there are the further blocks participants can learn. The progressions to these other blocks, Intermediate and Advanced, offer additional stimulation, both mental and physical challenge to clients.

Physio-Chi workshops are aimed at instructing others to take groups or perhaps teach individual patients/clients in their work, practice, or local community based hall. Instructors must be a health professional with exercise training experience such as Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, or Exercise Physiologists and similar. However other health staff such as Activity Officers, Diversional Therapists or Assistants with access to one of the above listed health professionals (for exercise modification and safety issues) can also become an instructor.
Physio-Chi is a trade marked form and to ensure both quality and consistency across health settings, it is recommended that Instructors do a refresher update every two years in order to correct any errors, refine their technique, and be updated on the latest tips on taking group sessions.

Expressions of Interest are sought for workshops from individuals or from Residential Facilities to hold a group workshop for all of their HCAs, physiotherapists, OTs. Upon receipt of an EOI then course information will be sent.
Format of workshops is 1 day per each 2 core Blocks. Ie. Red and Orange Bocks, then Yellow and Green Blocks, then Blue and Purple Blocks, if desired.
If they are run as a series of 3 workshops then it is recommended that a gap of about 4 - 8 weeks occurs between each to allow for consolidation of learning and practice.
One workshop for supplementary Blocks called White and Indigo, can stand alone as they differ in style. This can be done without completing any of the other core Blocks.
Format when travelling to other States is the same. Mentoring support is available afterwards.
Workshops are taught with a mixture of theory, practical demonstration, and practical exercises
Training videos are available online for registered users.
